We’re excited to announce two brand-new workshops this September!
These workshops are perfect for anyone who has previously attended our Beginner or Refresher workshops or several of our Jams and wants to keep learning — but they’re also ideal for those who’ve been tying for a while and are looking to deepen their skills
This all-levels workshop invites you to explore the power of physical expression and rough body play in rope. Guided by the experienced team from RopeRebels, you’ll deepen your skills in body manipulation, dynamic floorwork, and creative rope play — all grounded in consent, safety, and connection.
Part 1: Consent Talk
Communication is the foundation of every good rope experience. We’ll begin by discussing how to negotiate consent before tying, including the essential topic of aftercare — helping to make intense experiences sustainable and enriching. We’ll also cover safety basics and potential injury risks to ensure a safe space for everyone involved.
Part 2: Body Manipulation
We’ll dive into the world of physical expression through rope play. With a focus on minimalist technique, we’ll explore how subtle nuances and different qualities of touch can create intense connection with your partner.
Part 3: Floorwork
This section focuses on effective techniques for moving a partner into various floor-based rope positions safely and gracefully.
Part 4: Rough Body Play
Through hands-on practice, you’ll learn how to tie during movement, perform takedowns, and consciously guide your partner’s motion. These exercises build trust, creativity, and intuition in your rope and bodywork.
Awareness & Presence
To support presence throughout the workshop, we’ll integrate techniques from meditation and yoga — either at the beginning or between exercises. These practices help focus the mind, heighten body awareness, and deepen your energetic connection with your partner.
For Riggers:
Confident with single-column and double-column ties
Comfortable using frictions
For Models:
Understanding the difference between comfort and sustainability
Willingness to explore both
2 jute ropes
Safety scissors
Comfortable, form-fitting clothing (e.g. leggings, wire-free bra)
Optional: Water bottle, snack, blanket for aftercare
We look forward to an inspiring workshop with you! ✨
This all-levels workshop is designed to help you expand your rope skills and build a versatile, creative session flow. You'll explore upper and lower body harnesses and safe tying techniques— all grounded in consent, communication, and body awareness.
This workshop will show you that things often appear more complicated than they really are. We’ll begin with an introduction to anatomically safe tying and move on to various techniques to help you expand and diversify your rope repertoire.
Whether functional, playful, elegant, or challenging — we’ll explore ways to make your sessions more varied, and we’ll offer tools to unlock creativity and improvisation in your rope play.
Consent & Safety
Communication is essential in rope play. It starts with respectfully asking whether someone wants to play at all, and continues with negotiating where and how touch is welcome. Potential injuries and limitations must also be addressed in advance. Trust is the key — only when a model trusts their rigger can they fully let go and both partners enjoy the experience.
Nerve Safety
Tying — especially when it involves body weight — carries certain risks. We’ll cover the most commonly affected nerve pathways and help you distinguish between nerve issues and circulation problems.
Session Negotiation
Shibari can range from tender and nurturing to intense and pain-focused. It’s important to clarify expectations and desires in advance to create the most fulfilling experience possible.
